Bretter und Löffel

...

٠Schweizer Nussbaum vom Weihnachtsmarkt in Zürich, Fr. 4.-, Zuckerlöffel
٠Olivenholz, Geschenk von A. vom Urlaub in Korsika, Salzlöffel
٠idem oben

some colour

...
It's finally getting colder and with that the sky bluer
still have some photos which doesn't fit in a real post

the colour of 2013 is emerald green or green in general

Does somebody know how to photograph neon colours? They loose their intensity completely.

digging by colour

...
jumped last week in a big mess of old clothes and started to dig
found first the pale rose dress in silkgeorgette from the early 20ies, nearly no spots and no holes
second was the rose body warmer in wool
third the Hanro silkwool undershirt
fourth the parka from the 50ies

found as well kitchenstuff
the treasures have the same colourscheme
it was a good day: 2 pieces for 1 Euro!

"Quittenbrot" needed 2 weeks of drying
but it's fantastic

presents for myself

...
I don't stop with blogging.
was just ill for some days and the November tiredness came over me!

did myself some presents the last months!
they have the same kind of colour scheme

beeswaxcandels from TOAST
wine glasses from Lobmeyr/Vienna
curry spoon in walnut from Yoshiyuki Kato via
handwoven basket bag Akebi Shell Kago also via
coated cotton dress from Sophie
doll cardigan from MM for H&M
a mohair blanket which fit to the cat from TOAST
cashmere wool from Lang

since I was 4 years ago in Japan, and our translator walked around with a basket from the northern part of the country, I was dreaming of having one myself.
I like the simple form and tactility of the material.
In the same way of Wabi Sabi is the spoon carved-not completly perfect, not too smooth, just enough. This is the difficult part, or maybe the edge between a craftsman and an artist.
When is the moment not to add more, just to leave it a little unfinished?

...
it's getting warmer and the time of the fleamarket is back without nose which freez to dead
some nice things I found yesterday

enamel plate - hugh enough to carry a cake
cake wire - I have now 4 so I can open a bakkery!
a table mirror - for the girls who visit me to put on their make-up
wooden object - to put on the wall
and
5 forms for knitted stockings - from baby to grown-up women
I can definitly open a shop :-)

went also to see this exhibition
Per Kirkeby
nice colours and a beautiful film, his process of painting one big canvas
I dislike the fact that photos are nearly never permitted in exhibitions
the prints in the book are not good qualitiy, completely different colours

polishing

...
people who know me better
know
that I like to polish nearly everything which comes in my hands
maybe a sort of meditation with the aspect of perfection

this weekend was a full polish weekend
thrifted a big amount of antique baker molds and trays
4 wooden weels
a slot
a kind of  screw clamp for the table of a tailor, can't completly figure out the use of it

it was hard work to be honest :-)

collector maniacs

...
I'm not alone!
Feel always kind of better when I spot other people who are even worse in their collecting attitude then me.
Like Merle who has one of the biggest pastel service collection I ever saw. It's not her shop it's in her apartment!

Or like Ford Wheeler said in his portrait in the tmagazine:

"Collecting is kind of like drugs for some poeple, it can be hard to determine when it is just too much."
Ford Wheeler 1
Ford Wheeler 2

In my kitchen there is a pattern:
I collect old aluminium and emaille
I collect wooden objects
I collected red with white dots and brown with white dots
I collect Arzberg 2025
and new I collect nice japanese tea ceramics and porcelain
I don't collect things with chips
I don't spend mostly over 10 euros for something
I don't buy in ebay or etsy
