again on sourdough

...
I have to admit
it was not easy
after a long journey in sourdough baking
I know now how it works for me
the last loafs of bread got really good
I mean
round
bold
with air bubbles bigger then 2 mm
a crust that broke

I have learnt
that the starter really needs to be strong
that I have to feed the sourdough starter every week at least once
if I don't bake a bread, a part of it goes in the trash
that the dough may not be too sticky
that it needs time to double in volume
I do it now mostly through a whole night and bake in the morning
and I have to listen to my belly, the recipes are mostly not correct
and this book is shit-sorry-it's fool of mistakes

ceramic cups

...
I have a small collection of ceramic cups
most of them from thrift stores
I like when the edge is raw but thin
I like when they are simple and irregular
my favorite for tea third picture left

vintage textiles

...
from the fleas the last weeks

Kuba raffia cloth with cowrie shells and plastic beads embroidered
from DR Congo

a salomon printed curtain in halflinnen-like the eyes, actually I saw only them and not the roosters!

a very weird black printed curtain, it's almost too much, you really need a big room for this

more green

...
found some more objects in green the last weeks
and yes, I'm collecting plant pots but only in shades of green and black
and it seems that it's the colour of the coming season in interior

the small painting I found in an antique shop in Antwerp
it shows definitely a landscape from the canton of Berne
the house is typical for Emmental-yes where the cheese comes from!
it feels good to bring something like this home

new sheep

...
I already did it once
2 new black sheep
washed and dryed
would like to make a blanket out of them
felting is not really my kind of stuff
but maybe weaving it in a fabric or knitting it in
still have to think about it

I like the curls and dreads
like how archaic it feels to wash wool like this

had this in my mailbox today
don't like the music but her clothes and the woods

bobos, hipsters, bakfietspunks und Besserbürger

...

sammle mid-century design
was ich ergattert habe

mother of pearl buttons

...
another collection!

when I studied fashion design
I was lack of buttons
in my 4. year I needed 150 shirt buttons
back then I nearly couldn't find them
since then I'm collecting
and now
I nearly don't use them

brooms

...
there are actually many things I'm collecting
or maybe like a lot
and then they get more over the years

I like brooms
the most beautiful one is the one I scored yesterday at the flea
for a child I think
with a fly agaric handle
he fits in my collection of mushrooms see here

the half moon one should be originally from the Balkan
and the others are as well childrens size

zwetschgen

...

greenish grey

...
green tends out to be my most loved colour
want to paint the turqouis wall in the living very dark green
found finally a fitting fabric for the yellow couch
wanted to have sage, but it's more grey
a 70ies cushion cover
the book about Agnes Martin I found via the book/shop
the collection of scandinavian glass
and the most beautiful placemat from the 50ies with linnen napkins
